Man's work
Each Lignis product is the result of the work of expert hands that with time and passion have chosen, cut and assembled by hand the natural materials with which it is made. Lignis bases its activity on this important value. The craftsman that creates a Lignis product transfers a part of himself into the object, rediscovering the sense, creativity and humanity of his work. For this reason, those who choose Lignis to furnish their space choose a unique product, never the same as another, made by one person for another person.
Inlay
The 6 tenths of mm thin sheets of wood are chosen one by one according to the characteristics of the vein and the color more suitable for the specific product being processed. The pieces of wood are joined together by hand, like a puzzle, and finally the panel is perfected by hand.
Each color change of a Lignis object corresponds to a different material, a single piece of veneer, joined to the others with patience and skill.
Stucco technique
The stucco color is created specifically for each single product, so that it matches the color of the wood. The application of 3 coats of stucco is followed by manual sanding and surface finishing.
The surface of the wooden panel is burned by a few tenths of a millimeter, creating very small grooves that are filled by hand with the stucco.
Bas-relief
All the elements in Capriccio's bas-relief are obtained from a single sheet of sliced wood, cut, supported, hot pressed and then glued strictly by hand on a panel previously inlaid, creating a three-dimensional effect with small shadows on the surface of the decorative panel.
Flexible wood
Lignis makes wood surprisingly thin and soft to the touch thanks to an innovative technological solution: a thin sheet of wood coupled with technical fabric creates soft and malleable surfaces that make the objects functional, unusual and highly decorative.
